Welcome to The Homesteaded Mom. I created this blog to share my successes and failures in my adventures in motherhood, gardening, raising chickens, and making homemade products that are more natural and less chemical-filled. I hope you enjoy this blog and will follow me on my adventures!

Fruit Leathers: Take 2
I made more fruit leathers the other day and wanted to share a few more experiences with them. These ones I made from a blend of various berries along with more applesauce. I had 4c. of fruit mixture and 4c. of applesauce. This made 2 fruit leather trays that took about 6 hours to dehydrate. The flavor in them is great! However, I discovered that raspberries, with all their little seeds, are not the best to use. As you might be able to see in a couple of the pictures, there are tiny seeds every where. This made the fruit leathers "crunchy" and the little seeds got stuck in your teeth. But again, the flavor of them was really good!! Surprisingly, the pomegranate seeds were just fine to eat in the fruit leathers. I did blend it really well to try to knock down some of the pomegranate seeds. Most of them were blended in.
