If you are interested in essential oils and learning the various uses for them, the first thing is to know that not all essential oils are created equal. Research the brand of essential oils before purchasing them. Some are not 100% of the essential oil and will have additives to them. I personally like Young Living Essential Oils. They carefully extract the oils by using steam distillation and cold pressing. These methods are the best to use for getting the oils without changing them or altering them at all.
One thing to note is that cost obviously comes into play with essential oils. Typically, you are going to pay more for a higher quality of product, but not always. Just do some more research if there is a different brand you want to try.
There are 3 different types of uses for EO's (Essential Oils). They are aromatic, topical and dietary.
A couple of oils that are good to get as a beginner (since they have several different uses) are:
Lemon Oil: Cooking, beauty products, household cleaning products. Aromatic, topical or dietary.
Peppermint Oil: baking, energizing, Aromatic, topical or dietary.
Lavender Oil: Calming, beauty products, household cleaners. Aromatic, topical or dietary
Thieve's Oil: Household cleaners, beauty products. Aromatic or dietary.
