Dryer Sheets

When doing laundry, I always liked to use dryer sheets verses the liquid fabric softener that goes in the wash. Personally, I thought it softened the clothes better and helped keep the static at bay. Living in Minnesota, clothes get VERY "staticy" during the dry winter months. Dryer sheets got expensive, so I found a way to make my own, reusable dry sheets.

I bought a pack of simple and cheap dish sponges. Make sure it is simply a sponge and not a scrubbing pad on one side. I then cut them length-wise in half.

 In a container, mix 1 cup of your favorite liquid fabric softener with 2 cups of water. Place 2 halves of the sponge in the container. Allow the sponge time to soak up the softener. 

When you go to use them, wring them out slightly and just toss them in the dryer. Then add your clothes as normal, start the dryer and let it go! When the clothes are done, you will find the 2 halves of the sponge in your clothes. They will be dried and ready for more uses! It doesn't leave the greasy spots on your clothes either. I have even used them with bedding and never had any greasy spots from the softener. 

I bought that container of liquid fabric softener about 8 months ago and still have it! And, its still about half full! My clothes have been static free and super soft with using little fabric softener with these dryer sheets.
